AOD-9604 (Anti-Obesity Drug-9604) is a synthetic peptide derived from the C-terminal fragment (amino acids 176-191) of human growth hormone (HGH). It was specifically developed to replicate the lipolytic properties of HGH, eliminating the undesirable growth and metabolic effects associated with the full hormone.

Main Benefits:

• Powerful lipolysis - direct breakdown of stored fat

• Inhibition of lipogenesis - prevention of the formation of new fat

• Reduction of visceral fat and abdominal adiposity

• Stimulation of beta-3 adrenergic receptors in adipose tissue

• Mobilization of triglycerides into free fatty acids and glycerol

• It does NOT affect IGF-1 levels (unlike HGH)

• It does NOT alter insulin sensitivity or blood glucose.

• It does NOT cause organ or tissue growth.

• Preservation of lean muscle mass during weight loss

• Possible support for cartilage regeneration (emerging research)

• Favorable safety profile with no diabetogenic effects.

Typical Dosages:

- Fat Loss: 200-500 mcg per day (subcutaneous)

Standard Protocol: 250 mcg per day (ideal for beginners)

Advanced Protocol: 500 mcg per day (more robust results)

- Administration: Subcutaneous injection in the abdomen (morning, ideally on an empty stomach)

Cycle duration: 8-12 weeks for optimal results.

Frequency: Once a day (or split AM/PM)

AOD-9604 works by selectively activating beta-3 adrenergic receptors (ADRB3) in adipose tissue, which are key regulators of lipolysis. It initiates the conversion of triglycerides into free fatty acids and glycerol, which are then used for energy production. It operates independently of caloric intake or physical activity, although it works best when combined with a healthy diet and exercise. It acts at the molecular level of fat, making it ideal for those who have reached a plateau or have difficulty losing weight with conventional methods.

Molecular Formula: C₇₈H₁₂₃N₂₃O₂₃S₂

Half-life: Rapid degradation (metabolism by amino-terminal truncation)

Detection: Possible in plasma and urine by LC/MS/MS up to several days post-administration.

Advantages Over Full HGH:

• Selectivity - only affects fat metabolism, with no broad systemic effects.

• Safety - does not cause side effects such as diabetes, acromegaly, or edema.

• Specificity - targets adipose tissue without stimulating growth.

• Homeostasis - preserves normal glucose balance

Clinical Data: Over 900 participants in 6 randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials. Well-established safety profile, comparable to placebo. In a 23-week trial, individuals taking 1 mg daily had an average weight reduction of 2.8 kg vs. 0.8 kg in the placebo group. HOWEVER, development was terminated in 2007 because it did not demonstrate statistically significant weight reduction in 536 individuals over 24 weeks.

Mixed Results: Animal studies have shown more pronounced results (increased lipolysis and prevention of fat accumulation in obese rats). In humans, the fat-burning effects may be modest without lifestyle intervention. Effectiveness varies significantly between individuals.

Often Combined With:

• CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin: Synergy for endogenous HGH release and fat metabolism

• BPC-157 or TB-500: For joint health and recovery during weight loss.

• Cutting Cycles: Sometimes added to protocols with SARMs or steroids

Side Effects: Very rare and mild - possible reactions at the injection site (redness, itching), mild nausea or swelling (usually disappears after a few days), fatigue or rare headaches. Excellent safety profile with no significant toxicity.

Important Note: AOD-9604 is NOT FDA approved for weight loss or cosmetic use. Available in some clinics through compounding programs, but quality and consistency vary. It is classified by WADA as an unapproved substance, prohibited in sports. Products from unverified suppliers may have purity or contamination issues. Requires medical supervision.
