Melanotan 2 (MT-2) is a synthetic peptide analogue of alpha melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH), originally developed to stimulate skin pigmentation and protect against UV damage. It activates multiple melanocortin receptors (MC1, MC3, MC4, MC5), resulting in effects that go beyond tanning.

Main Benefits:

• Stimulation of melanin production for natural tanning.

• Enhanced protection against UV radiation and sunburn

• Increased libido and sexual desire (men and women)

• Improved erectile function in men

• Increased arousal and orgasms

• Reduces appetite and supports body fat loss.

• Immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties

• A tan that lasts for extended periods

• Less sun exposure needed to maintain color

• Cardiovascular effects via MC receptors

Typical Dosages:

- Tanning: 0.25-1 mg per day (subcutaneous)

- Loading Phase: 0.5-1 mg daily for 7-10 days

Maintenance: 1-2 mg, 1-2 times per week

- Libido/Sexual Function: 0.5-2 mg, 2-3 hours before activity.

Clinical Dosage: 0.025 mg/kg of body weight

Protocol: Start with low doses and increase gradually.

Melanotan 2 works by activating melanocortin receptors. MC1R stimulates melanocytes to produce melanin (tanning), while MC3R and MC4R in the central nervous system regulate sexual behavior, appetite, and energy homeostasis. Tanning effects manifest in 7-10 days (especially with some UV exposure), with full effects in 3-4 weeks. Effects on libido may be noticed within days.

Common Side Effects: Nausea, facial flushing, yawning and stretching, spontaneous erections in men (1-5 hours after administration), darkening of moles and freckles, loss of appetite.

Important Note: Melanotan 2 is NOT approved by the FDA or European regulatory agencies. It is not approved for medical use and there are concerns about its long-term safety. Health agencies advise against its use due to a lack of complete testing. Requires strict medical supervision.
